The Minister of Education of West Bengal, Bratya Basu stated that admission to undergraduate courses will be done through a centralised process for all the colleges run by the state. However, some of the autonomous and minority institutions have been exempted.

He said that the admission process will begin on June 24 and will be conducted through a common website. This will eliminate the possibility of a student with higher marks to secure admission in multiple colleges at once. The student then accepts one seat in the preferred course and vacates the rest.
