This program will benefit around 27 lakh students and 1.25 lakh teachers. The Education department has identified critical initiatives which need interventions and has formed teams for each of them. It is a 3 - 5 year project and all the Government schools will undergo transformation.
The entire state and district organisation will be oriented towards providing academic quality. A Programme Management Unit (PMU) has been set up for project supervision and coordination. To bring about statewide education transformation nine interventions have been recommended.
These include measuring the problem and tracking progress, setting up the system information through workshops, leadership training, management information system, teacher training, pedagogy changes, teacher recruitment, school merging and infrastructure channeling.
All the private organisations or NGOs with a proven track record and qualified team will be eligible for the program.
